Wow Butter Candy
A nut-free dessert!
July 6, 2018
When I was in elementary school, the ultimate lunchroom snack was a mysterious peanut butter and chocolate thing called "Peanut Butter Candy". It was so awesome, slightly crunchy, with a thin layer of chocolate on top. A friend recently came across the recipe. Sadly, I am not supposed to eat peanuts any more, so we tried making it with Wow Butter, my current favorite substitute. Seriously, Wow Butter is very good, I'd say it's about 90% as good as real Peanut Butter, and you wouldn't even notice a difference if you were eating a WowButter and jelly sandwhich. And the recipe turned out great with Wow Butter!
- 2 Cups Wow Butter (available at Walmart)
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
- 3 Cups Rice Krispies
- 12 Oz. Chocolate Chips
First, mix the Wow Butter, butter, and powdered sugar.
Next, mix in the Rice Krispies. Mix it in like crazy, crunching it up. This is the most difficult part. I had to mix it up for about 30 minutes before it got the right consistency. You shouldn't see any full Rice Krispy flakes, it should turn into a paste.
After mixing, flatten it with your hands evenly into a pan.
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave, and pour evenly onto the top of the mixture in the pan.
Refrigerate for a little while so it can harden, and then enjoy!
